He said that all the rumors of the resignation of Fakhar-U-Din G Ibrahim are false. He said that as CEC Fakhar-U-Din G Ibrahim has his last duty of his life and he will perform it cleanly. He said that election commission will fulfill the expectations of the people this time for last sixty years. He said that the elections will be held on time and there is no ambiguity about it. He said that according to the article #254 if a task is not done in time it does not become unconstitutional.
He said that election commission has told all the political parties to follow the article 62 & 63 of the constitution and they all have agreed on it. He said that political parties have suggested three ways to follow the article 62& 63 of the constitution. He said that the first way is that political parties should take action themselves, secondly election commission and thirdly the people as voters.
He said that election commission is doing reforms in election process sine 2009 with the consultation of political parties, local and international organizations. He said that the voter’s lists are the most important and they have been corrected with the help of NADRA. He said that it has become impossible to cast a bogus vote in Pakistan now. He said that anybody over 18years old who will get NIC his name automatically will be included in the voter’s lists. He said that the voter’s lists will be consisted of the name, father’s name, address and the picture of the voter.
He said that some legal reforms also have been introduced and some have already been passed and others will be passed before the assemblies are dissolved. He said that a demand also has been made that if any wrongdoing is committed against the staff of EC it will take action itself.
He said that if Tahir-Ul-Qadri has any new suggestions about reforms he is welcomed.
He said that to change the way of declaring majority vote taker is also under consideration. He said that many new suggestions are under consideration to adopt a new way of declaring a candidate the winner of elections.
He said that some proposal will pop up by the end of this month for delimitation in Karachi.
He said that the election commission is working on making sure the security for the voters during the elections.
He said that election commission will allot first class magistrate authority to its presiding officers this time.
He said that the election commission is determined to hold election of both national and provincial assemblies on same day.
